    Nice fish mate.
Chris do you jig for your herring at spinnaker or use the cast net?You use to be able to jig some around the markers in the passage.

hey mate, i just have a 12 foot net with a top pocket. There is alot of herring around at the moment i got about 20 in my first cast and then took me about 5 casts to get about 10 poddy mullet. Right at the bottom of tide last night i noticed alot of bait at the bridge pylons on the mainland side and since i had no livies left i threw the net and literally filled the net with hardi heads, chopper tailer, herring and some big garfish.

I had a look at the passage today - was hoping to get a few sand crabs. Put the pots in about four different locations over 6 hours and only managed 2 keepers. Fished around the banks and oyster covered rocks while waiting for the pots to fill up, but all I could find were bream. Ended up with 8 keeper bream and 2 tarwhine - released about double that number of undersize ones. Couldn't find a lizard anywhere, which was a bit of a surprise. Looks like the livies are the go!
