    Must Be A Nice Day

Weather we have been waiting for !!! I went past the Parklyn Pde ramp at Mooloolaba this morning. This has a huge parking area - probably 100 plus spots. It was full with another 28 trailers out in the strret. Lots of people on the water today !! Hope the fish are biting !!

Same up around Scarbie. Can't remember the last time I saw so many cars and trailers parked in all the surrounding streets. Also the boat traffic in and out of the Canals was huge. Gotta admit though.....the comings and goings were smooth as....with no major incidents at the coast guard ramp from 2pm to 4.30pm..everyone seemed to be on their best behaviour...great to see.

I guess it kind of makes you think what will it be like in (say) another 5-10 years, suburbs are growing at a fast pace, boat ownership is growing at an equaly fast rate, ramps will get busier and busier untill we have (and I hope not) some serious "ramp rage" and perhaps some violence! my local ramp had a decent carpark, but still got full on weekends, the local Council did a few hundred thousand dollars of "upgrades" to the ramp, great we all thought, the ramp needs some work, but the dills in power did not go near the ramp, they put in some gardens and a few seats, that effectively removed about 50 car/trailer parks! nowdays, the surrounding streets are full of trailers, pity the people thay live near there now.
