quick report....
Fishing slow, company was great lots of laughs and a fantastic day offshore. It was a shame you have been working so hard and missed this one Wags but I am sure there will be another in the next week.
As far as fish went.....left Manly at 5am and headed out past Green and then North to the beacons, great run, off to get some bait. The tri leg beacons are holding Pike and the solid beacons are holding the usual herring and yakkas. With half a tank full of livies we hit Brennans where we normally manage some fun. This time however we had a few hits but unable to land any, seems they were a little shy.
Out come the skirts and hardbodies, we trolled from the Cape out to about 100m line and spent about an hour and a half trolling to no avail, our final plan was to troll from the start of the headland north to Hutchies, once again no fish but jeez the views were spectacular with crystal clear water. We fished the ledge with plastics as one last attempt when Timiboy hooked up to an unstoppable and after a good run with big head shakes it was clear he wasnt stopping this one. We all guessed at the possibilities but it was clear with the current bans in place probably a big Nobby!
Off to Tangalooma where I think we will be stopping more often as the beer runs cold and the burgers are simply great.
I had a great day and look forward to doing it again, possibly with an overnighter involved
