    Fraser Eastern side - house/resort?

    Hi all,

I want to take my olds to Fraser. They have never been. When I went up I stayed on the Western side and enjoyed all the tracks getting to the eastern side, but in the end with the tides, its a pain over there if you want to run right up to the northern tip. So with the oldies I was planning on a 3 dayer at Eurong. They have a new Forrester petrol auto which should do very well in the sand with the right pressures, and no load. I will be there anyway with the Disco if there are any dramas. When I went clearance for a sube on some of the inland tracks that were eroded would have seen some scraping but not too bad in the Sube I reckon.

So would anyone recommend Eurong for a short stay or a house on that side and if so which? A house might be cheaper given we have 3 kids. Any particular houses?

I love camping but this isnt going to be a camping trip.

    Any help appreciated.

    Cheers

We took the olds up last year and stayed in a house at Happy Valley which is pretty central and was reasonably priced - although it was outside peak season.

We've also stayed in the beachfront houses at Eurong which are excellent but more expensive.

i spent 3 nights at eurong resort last week.
I got 2 brm appartment, very big and clean, big balcony, but only had ceiling fans and not real good when u r used to air con every night.
    other than that very good.
meals at the buffet each night were very nice. $22 per head all u can eat.
bakery had nice stuff as well.
The track to lake mckenzie was bit shitty. some real deep holes and muddy, but we got through, pretty rough though.
Went up to waddy pt, and that bay up there was fantastic. champ pools were good to swim in.
Fishing no good, to much weed and those bloody march flies just drove u mad and do they bite.
    still got the bites.
but overall a great few days, and the resort was good. massive pool there.
need any more info just ask.

    cheers

There are 3 bedroom units at Happy Valley on Stayz, (bronzewing) that we have stayed in that are great. They were $150 a night, but think they are $180 now. Very modern and close to the pub. They said 5 minutes walk to the pub, but you would have to get lost for 4 minutes I reckon to take that long.

If you have kids, Eli creek is close and always a big hit.

No Use Going To Happy Valley.
Pub In Receievership , Closed, And No Idea When Opening.

We Called In There For A Cold Beer, Last Weekend.

Place Was Like A Ghost Town.

    Thanks fellas,

Greg - cheers mate. The trouble is that with our 3 kids they will make us take two rooms - so $400 per night!!!!! Unless of course I can ship a kid off to their grandparents room... Looking for a house I think but we will see.

There Is Also A Sofa That Comes Apart Into 2 Singles In The Lounge Room As Well.

I Think Eurong Is Great Kids Resort With The Real Big Pool. Its Massive.

There Is A House At Front Of Resort With For Rent On It.
Just Ring The Shop At Eurong, Because The House Is Right Opposite The Shop With Ph No On The Big Sign Out Front.
    It Looked Real Good.

Google Fraser Island house rentals and you will be flooded with properties that will suit what you're after.

Bad news about the pub at Happy Valley, I was going to suggest happy Valley as a more central alternative as the drive from Eurong to Orchid is a long trek and HV cuts a fair bit of time off it. Is the shop open for fuel?
