I put in Sunday 4pm at Scarby - fished the close reef for one hour water was dirty and a bit choppy so little chappie said he want to buy a treat from . . . . . a shop . . . . on that island !
Okay so we went across to Tangalooma and got to the shop as last people there just before 6pm, had icecream and lollies on the beach then drove back to Scarby.
Bit of a flash in pan visit - would have made a nice longer stay but . . . .
yes the water was nice and clear and warm at the island.
Chappie enjoyed the trip across cuz we beat another boat - looked like P&O Sea Princess or similar - one big boat
Little fella sat on dads lap and held the steering wheel - he reconed he was a great driver too.
Nice outing for dad and son - no fish but a fun trip.
I need to head back over to there again as its a magic place, but might wait until the weather cools off a bit so the numbers are down then as well.
Cheers
Lee
After the shocking summer we've had, I'm making the most of this weather regardless of crowds. The crowds at Tangas didn't detract from our day at all, the boat ramps weren't really an issue either.
Gotta go when the going's good! might try exploring elsewhere this weekend.

I hear ya.
I have not been out much, trying to save $ and we just got a new puppy so need to spend time at home doing things to the new house before fishing comes into the equation.
It looks like your boat isn't that big Matt, so if you want to get away from the crowds then learn to pick the tides a bit and sneak in to the beach at lucinda bay on the southern side of tangalooma point. It's a bit shallow, we used to just walk our 6.2m boat in on the lower tides, and there's no wrecks for snorkelling, but the trees come down almost to the waterline for shade when you're having your beach beers and there's very rarely any 4wd's through there, and certainly no idiots, so the kids can run free .................... paradise!
Hi Guys
I was up there on sat arvo late, after looking for those elusive spottys, first time for my boy(was his idea and he loved it), pulled some trevally on slugs just west of wrecks just before dark, they were bustin up for a while, let them all go, then we came back in past mud in the dark.
