Thread: Dreaming! if you had 250K to spend on a boat what would it be????

Oh it'd be sweet Chimo, but that's a 40 footer weighing in at 10 or 11 tons dry. Much more when loaded with fuel and enough food and beer for half a dozen of you fat bastards . I reckon you'd be lucky to pull 600 km out of that.

Mine might be 4ish tonnes dry at 30 feet. And yes, I will always ensure a bridge free track - if the ducks line up this will be an interim boat...

About 10m overall, 315 Yanmar with leg. Long range, freezer and fridges, solar power, genset air con, galley and bathroom, enough fresh for 3 or 4 showers plus drinking, and very full electronics suite. Full length roof, fish magnet!

She'll be close to $250K when complete.

Then Bubi 3? 250K will be a deposit.

A deposit for one of these. My dream boat. About $4million US will get you a second hand one.

And Ian - I can't beleive you'd settle for a dirty old Cabo over the Nordhavn.

They are nice vessels. Even the smaller ones look the goods. You can take them anywhere and look good doing it

I love the flybridge style boats, but agree there is something about those express style boats they just wreak of money and plane game fishing no frill just open deck and tuna tower, popular in the states.

I'm still attached to the 24 Caribbean plus 200 series to tow it around the country like my floating caravan plus maybe a little tender to fish the creeks.

I only had 250, 000 to spend!!! The Cabo looked the goods for that money. Now if the thread was for 4.5 Million to spend the 75 Nornhaven is the bomb thats for sure! That sucker has 4000 nm range in style!!

preferences are just a personal opinion, all subjective - I just don't like the look of them, even with a tower on an express, I still prefer the flybridge boats.

I put a very high estimate on there to cover for the nay sayers. The point is it will go further, much further, on a K of juice than the Riv displayed on 1500.

We don't know exactly what she will weigh yet.

Not only would the GPS stay on, but the data would also be feeding into the Ocean Floor Mapping software. Not for general consumption, of course, I'm always tight lipped about marks I haven't discovered myself...

Your choice, maybe one day, IF MY DUCKS LINE UP. C'mon ducks!

I thought boats ran on fuel (either unleaded or diesel) not Special K. And Special K is flakey is not liquidy by any means of the word....unless your not real quick at eating them then they're all soggy.....

So a question for you all.
Righto... you've all won, or Aunty Iris, has left you the $250,00 and you've spent it on the boat.
How do you pay for the running costs like mooring fees, maintenance, fuel and most expensive expense...rego??
Even if you won a million that wouldn't take long to go when you consider the other running costs of these sorts of boats.....would it??
I intend on living for-ever....so far so good

You're right, Scott. The bigger they get, the cheaper they ain't. It's a simple matter of multiplication. If you want to multiply your toy, you have to multiply your income.

Multiply the Income means mulitiply the workload = more stress = less time = boat sitting in the marina for long periods.
