Wild Turkey is the go!
You'd have change if you bought a nice 34' Black Watch with open bulkhead and 330 Cummins'. $250K might not stretch to a 36' though.
If you wanted a bit more of a family boat with twin staterooms a 35' Bertie or Carribean with 330+ Cummins' might sneak in.
Not a fan of the express boats from the US everyone seems to be bringing in. Still good value in flybridge land. Had a mate bring in a 44' custom with 710hp electronic Cats for $200K AUD landed here. US Blackfins/Black Watchs etc. would be the go. Their Blackfins are suppossed to be good and different to the ones built here under licence back in the 80s.
Ya still dont like express style boas do you Rob! There hard on the skipper i guess but they sure do look the goods imho! Maybe you've just spent tooo much time behind toughend glass!![]()

Alcohol doesn't agree with me, but i sure do enjoy the argument!!!
I don't even like the look of the express boats - just a personal thing, but I much prefer the look of the flybridge boats myself
I don't mind the Express Boats, if they're set up right...

Hi Tim
By the time you build your proposed platey you will have been better off just getting the Riv. .

You would probably get it for the same 250k ish; by the time your finished building new and fitting out; and the missus will get a more comfortable ride in the Riv too. Hope you have a bridge free track to the deep which I dont!
Cheers

Hi Tim
1550lt seems more than 1000lt even if there are two motors
You can always use one at a time for low speed stuff
