rebuild of savage marlin
Has anyone got or been in a savage marlin that has a pod on it. How does it perform. In the next couple of weeks I am going to start striping out my savage marlin to re do the stringers , floor and transon. While at this stage a pod could be added to gain more fishing room. Also toying with the idea of a fiberglass hard top as well. I have a good mate who rebuilds boats to help me with the harder stuff. Any advice on performance with a pod would be appricated.
I will post some photos in the next couple of weeks as we start .

Re: rebuild of savage marlin
hey mate my neighbour just purchased a savage marlin a month back with a pod on it already were in the process of painting the boat now and it will be all finished have already taken it over to moreton he has a 200v6 yammy on the back his marlin is like a 21 foot model and the pod is about 700mm handles great the biggest thing is the extra weight sticking further back off the boat so when comming off the plane you have to be more aware of slowing down as ull have more motor wash come up around the motor. no real difference in performance just find somebody whos made them before dont go to a metal fabricator whos never done one before.

I am pretty sure the Spearfish 21s are a flop of the Savage and they mostly had pods. One guy had an inboard but he soon changed to a pod too.
