Hi guys,
just wondering are all the inpoundments that got filled up such as awoonga, callide and monduran etc not fishing well because of all this rain or are there other reasons to why they have all gorn slow?

Mondy copped a lot of water in Feb 2010 and again on a couple occasions during the rest of the year. On each occasion, large areas of grass and other vegetation went under water. Existing weed beds disappeared. It takes time for new ones to form. There is a theory that the breakdown of these vegetations affects the water quality and oxygen levels, upsets the barra's habits, and puts them off the bite. There also seems to have been quite an increase in baitfish, so the barra may not be too hungry. And of course, we now have much much larger areas of vegetation under water.
