Went for another morning flick on the sp's around Munna point tide was still pushing a fair bit even after the change so gave up fairly quick.
Ducked to the shops for a quick chat at davos tackle and a bite to eat.
Went back half hour later and it had slowed down heaps chucked on a little 2inch shad and first cast got smashed before it could even hit the bottom with a good hard fight i thought i was on to a ripper managed to get it all but 5ms from the shore and spat the hooki was pretty gutted at this point and just let it sit there in the hope it might pick it up again.
low and behold in all view this flatty just comes in and swoops it and absolutely engulfs my plastic not wanting to lose her i tighten the drag and whip her to the shore. To my surprise was only a 48cm model but if it was the same fish she was quite strong and put up a great fight.
For the next 10 mins i kept getting smashed but couldnt bury the hook on any of them thinking my jig may of been a bit blunt i switched it up and chucked a 1/8th and a 3 inch shad to get me a bit more distance and make sure i was on the bottom.
Few casts later and my line was screaming off again let it run a bit to guarantee hookage before tightening up the drag a bit and turning her around wasnt too much of a fight with only a few short runs but i could feel she was a heavy one. pulled her up on the beach and ends up being a P.B going 61cm.
Both fish released to fight another day.
Is it commen for the bigger models to not have as much fight in them? or maybe she was just tired from chasing my plastic around for 10mins.

sometimes around spawing you wil get 1 large female flattie in the area and 10 or so small male flatties hanging off her trying to breed with her... this may have been the case with there being such a hot bite... as far the poor fight... no idea..... you may have hooked the biggun first up and just ended up with the smaller males after that.... or maybe it was just a hot bite what would i know....
