Re: 2001 250hp jono fuel usage
just saw the boat(on ebay), if its your dream boat mate grab it at a good price use it wisely for a few year then upgrade the donk, yes it will not be worth massive amount but factor this into the offer, otherwise ask the boat shop what type of deal they may do you on that boat with a trade in with the 250 johno and put on something maybe a little smaller or 4 stroke or DI 2 stroke maybe a few more hours but better fuel. if you love it make it happen

yeah timbo i hear what you are saying but 20 odd grand in diffeernce in price buys you alot of fuel and the extra 20k in borrowed money is an xtra $220-$250 a month in repayments..

It was just another perspective to look at it.
Sometimes it makes or breaks the deal.
But seems ya still stuck in the middle.
Good Luck

rosco 12,000+ litres of fuel (at current prices)
i traded a 20 yr old johnson 175 years ago the bloke that bought it used it for another 6 years so if the motors ok you will get years out of it

Re: 2001 250hp jono fuel usage
yeah oldie just looked at the boat again on ebay..didn't even know it was listed there till late last nite..he offered it to me a couple of weeks ago at that price and still reading up on the boat..trying to nut it all out b4 i commit to it..the outboard doesn't worry me as it will be upgraded at somestage down the track...having a bit of trouble gettin a reasonably accurate weight of the package...i have read about 5 different weights of the package...being from 4200lb to 5000lb dry weight package...have a4x4 ute that can tow 3t but full of fuel and water i think it might just scrape under the 3t.dont want to have tom buy a new tow car as well
cheers rosco

Re: 2001 250hp jono fuel usage
based on the fact the boat is what 1700kg motor a couple hundred and alloy trailer 4-500? thats what 2.5 with fuel and gear you would be pushing 2.8t?

Re: 2001 250hp jono fuel usage
the dealer recons somewhere between 2.5-2.8t fully loaded but am not sure the weights i think are closest 5000lb as have seen a few around this figure which is around the 2.3t dry boat motor trailor but then if it full of fuel 567ltr tank 60ltrs ofwater thinking it closer to 3t...going to have a look at again prob saturday..there is a public weighbridge bout 5 minutes from the boatyard might get him to tow it up there for piece of mind on the weight...
