I did some sums and for the price difference and the amount of hours i do its going to take about 10 years to make up the price difference between a carby 2 stroke and a injected motor.
The only real advantage to me is the extended range on a tank.

maybe will keep looking around as am in no hurry to buy and wait for something with a 4 banger or opti comes up or even better a verado...
250HP Verado at WOT on a 685 Cruise Craft Outsider will suck close to 100 LPH pushing at 55MPH though!!!
no matter what motor u buy it will suck a heap of of fuel if u wot in a higher hp motor...no brainer there
as a trade how much would you get on a 10yr old 4stroke
in the same condition?? relative to the new price now
also is there much price difference in rebuilding either motor in the future
There arn't any 10 year old four stroke V6's.. they came out in 2002.
The 4 stroke will be far more expensive but IMO it will go twice the distance of the 2 stroke given the same TLC

Roscoe, what about the one in Vic? 2007 model 250hp yammie 4 banger - few more bucks but looks the goods? I wouldnt discount it as an airfare is reasonably cheap to check it out?? Just thinking out loud

yeah mate they are...going by the info i have got doesn't matter if its a 2 or 4 stroke over the 200hp it will use 100ltr/hr +,am in 2 minds now...starting to look at a few new boat like the yalta odessa and the stejcraft 650wa be around the same money but would be new bmt packages but realistically they are only half the boat of the wellcraft....
cheers rosco
keep in mind the stejcraft is asian made boat whether that worries ya
thanks for the info oldie i didn't know they where an asian built boat..will keep that in mind
This is just my two cents.
I would be looking at buying as new and efficient as possible.
Now if that means a few more dollars now do it.
Cause if your using the boat every week and using an extra 100lt fuel then thats an extra $140 towards the finance each week.
All depends on how many hrs motor will be used and calculate fuel figures to $$ per week for finance.
By the way I no everyone has a strech mark to work within.
