Pine river bull shark

no as i was very young but it was in the local rag at the time i will try to find a copy of it. It would have been late 80s to early nineties.

thanks guys for the tips - you guys are awesome!!!! ive got some new exploring without feeling hopeless about not knowing how to fish.

lethel098 - yer it put up a fair fight - initially i thought it was going to be either a really large catty or a small ray that didnt go in circles if that makes sense

FT - the water seemed to be clearing on frid/sat but still brown but def see through. have heard its turned an orange colour yesterday? maybe more fresh being relesed from the ponds near there? btw not sure what floatsam means?

Nope i must have been imagining it!!! cant find a thing about it now at all
However my bros and mother remember it bein in nov 88 so they say.
But with no evidence its just memories.
However my mother did say that a bloke she talked to about the catch believed the shark had been caught after dying somewhere in the lower catchments and there was some minor flooding at the time so might have just floated upstream.

Hi Rynosaurus ,
One of the best places for Whiting is to fish a run in tide in the area between the back of the rocks and the sandbank at the point of the mangrove island . Fish closer to the sandbank than the rocks . The area is a muddy bottom and the Whiting will appear quite dark in colour when they first come out of the water. Bloodworms are by far the best bait . nice river whaler aka bull shark. when heading north on the bruce when you cross the pine look to your right and the shallow banks on the left hold some awesome flatties. usually stretch 5 manns lures do the damage, troll this bank all the way down to deep water bend and i reckon you will get a few lizards.
