    the hunt is over

well I ended up buying a boat today and not the one I thought I was going to. I went and had a look at two this morning, first up was a 5.1 Allycraft Islander runabout with a 75 four stroke Mercury, all 05 model. The second was the Savage scorpion with a 90 2 stroke Mercury, all 04 model. As soon as the wife saw the Allycraft she was hooked, she loved the size of it, how comfortable the seats are, the height of the bimini with the clears for when it rains, and the overall look of the boat. We then went to see the Savage which I thought I would like even more. On arrival we both looked at it and were surprised how much smaller it was than the Allycraft. The general condition was not as good either, it didnt grab me like I thought it was going to, like the first one did. I always go with my gut feeling/instint when buy expensive things and it was with the Allycraft. I know its not going to be as fast but it is a much more practical boat for what we want, anyway this is her

forgot to mention I ended up getting them to give me a 12 month warranty on the motor, getting it fully serviced before I pick it up and got them down to $20k, drive away. It used to be owned by an older gentleman up at Bribie and was always looked after very well.

Very nice pic up, it's so funny and good when the missus gets into choosing the rig, I'm happy with anything but the wife says it needs this and that, so far shes been right and we get something that works for the whole family, and end up with a better toy.

Have fun with it , Cheers

I had a 5.1mt AllyCraft Reef Prince Centre Console for 5 1/2 years. Can't beat the AllyCraft in my opinion. It will serve you well, so will the motor. Congrats, hope we see you on the water often.

well done mate, she should serve you well. ass many of the guys have said it is funny when the she who must be obeyed gets involved. I started out looking at a blue fin mangrove jack and when I showed the wife it changed all around and ended up with evolution. if she had it all her way I would ended up with a pontoon barbie boat. not so good for fishing offshore!!

as they say the three rings of marriage

enjoy the new boat I hope she serves you well
