cant imagine it would be any more than 2200-2500. I sent my old haines hunter to perth when I sold it and that was $3800.00. what ever you do don not use southern cross boat transport as it took 9 weeks to get there. they left the boat open and the boat sank on the truck. nose down, so the cabin was full well over half a meter of water. lucky the new owener arranged the transport. However what ever you do do not use Southern Cross Boat transport. Have heard many other stories from other people as well. so it wasn't just me
You should be able to get it done for well under $2000, I would think around the $1500. Sydney melbourne and Sydney Brissy are major routes and lots of companies cover them.
About a year ago I paid $1800 from Sydney to Mackay for a 6.5 mt boat on a trailer , all up weight around the 2300 kg.
got a quote recently to transport 4.2m boat, trailer & motor from brisbane to adelaide $1500 I know your boat is bigger, but you would think you could get it there for around 2k?
You need to take into account that everything ex Melbourne is considered prime freight and high value. Going the other way will score a cheaper deal usually. I got a Haines Formula 233 from Townsville to Melb for 2K several years back (through Rob and Cameron). Wayyyyy cheaper than if it was the other way around!!
The days of a backload "bargain" are pretty well over from my understanding. Trucks usually only head off when full and the return journey is usually filled also or the trucks often wait a couple of days to secure a full load.
If Rob rings me looking to see if I have any freight I know he is trying to fill the truck.
