    Cool Optimax gen 1 and gen2

    Can anyone tell me the year optimax gen 2 motors were introduced, any obvious features to use to identify them. Have been told electrics changed from mitsubishi to motorola with more reliability. I am asking about the 115hp engine, the one in question being 2006.
    Have read most posts about optimax, and just want to know how to pick a gen.1 series from a gen2

    I don't know about Gen I and Gen II but my 2006 model 200 opti has a motorola computer.

    Thanks for this info. no doubt the word motorola is obvious when i open the cowling if it is hard to find let me know. i,m hoping a 400hr. 06 motor has lots of trouble free hours left in it cheers john
