Wello Point Now Open On Australia Day - Thanks Wendy

After further discussions and a fair bit of campaigning from the local councillor, Wendy Boglary at a Disaster Committee this morning, the Wellington Point Reserve and boat ramp now will be open on Australia Day to all traffic including boats - so long as the car, boat and trailer are under 4.5 tonnes.

(Readers of these forums might have noted my previous correspondence regarding this matter and earlier advice that the ramp would be closed. The above news is an update).

Given that there will be traffic restrictions in place at the causeway where the road has subsided and further on where a retaining wall has fallen, boaties would be well advised to get to the ramp early. There there is the potential for delays down Main Road where it becomes single lane, one way in these two sections albeit that traffic lights were in place.

Don't just be careful, be very patient. Where it is down to one lane in two spots, they have temporary traffic lights. So be careful AND patient.
