Did a trip to the northern banks/southern hards on tuesday. Left from mooloolaba at approx 5.30 am, punched through a slight norhterly chop. Stopped about 5 kms off the banks where there was an amazing current line- water was dirty all the way out to here and deep blue pushing into it from the north. Nothing on the troll- only for 15 mins- the deckies bet bored quickly. Made it out to our grounds, struggled most of the day- mainly because the skipper was in all sorts- sea sick and comming off the back of night shift 7 hrs sleep in 48 hrs doesnt help. Finished with mixed bag of 35 fish, mainly parrot 20, some pearlies, squire, moses etc, pick of the fish was a rte about 3-4 kgs off the banks on the way home. There was no current and i feel we could have put a decent bag togeather if i wasnt in all sorts- first time since owning the boat. No birds/pelagic activity though i did hear a few guys at the ramp talking of some good spanish 1m+ coming in dont know where from. sorry no pictures.
