Iluka Jew Fishing
G'day
I am on my way down to Woody head this monday for a week and am interested in finding out where Jew and or Tailor might be being caught off the beach in that area. Just getting back into that form of fishing again after a long lay off I forgot how good it is to get out there for the big nights.
Cheers

G'day mate,
You could try out on the breakwater wall about three quarters out. You'll see where the walking track really turns bad and there's a steel post there on the river side.
The rocks there on the ocean side are cut pretty square and level and you can quite easily get down close to the water.
Failing that, you could try out the front of the Bluff, but that's dependent on tides, waves and swell. If it's too rough there, you could try the beach about 30 - 40 metres south of the Bluff.
Might be a bit dirty though.

if you have a 4x4 work the gutters along shark bay probably your best bet for finding clean water if not the gutters on main beach and back beach may be worth a shot. You should find bream around the beaches and wall I would target slack water high tide on the inside of the wall as far as you can safely get along the wall. The best thing to do is drop into Dizzys and ask whats happening they will tell you its in their best interest and they are nice people.
I havent been down for a few weeks but I would be cautious around the rocks with all the rain they can become very slippery and DANGEROUS so unless you have spikes etc give it a miss.
