I just use aquadhere.
The key is clamping properly.
Wax up some threaded bar and stick some body washers on the ends.

Willo,
I use Selley's Quik Grip for nearly all of my grips now, including cork! Quik grip is a contact cement but I don't use it that way for cork. I coat the cork rings and push them together while they are still wet. Then twist them backwards and forwards to make sure every face is completely covered in the glue. Once you've done this to the length you want, clamp them for at least 24 hours. Don't worry if some of the glue squeezes out. Once you turn them you will not see any of the joins and it is strong as any glue I've used.

Mark
Thanks Guys
Just another question for ya's..LOL
Is That... Tite Bond.... they talk about in the US Rod building sites ,just wood glue ? like aquadere
Cheers Willo
Tite Bond is available here.
I haven't used it and there are several types including urethanes.
The standard one is just PVA wood glue same as aquadhere as far as I can tell.

Owen

How much presure should be applied to the Clamps when joining rings..?
Cheers Willo
Willo,
Don't use too much pressure or you will find you'll have problems. I tighten mine up so the rings are firmly together but not over tight. You are looking to keep them firm enough for the glue to bind them together, not crush the rings!

Thanks for your input guys
Thought I would just post some pics of final product
Cheers Willo
Came out good.
The hardest part is finding decent cork!

Yeh Mark
Ended up using Selleys aquadhere ,only reason being I already had some ..LOL
Plus I liked the idea of a water base clean up and I am happy with the result, But down the track will try quik grip for a comparison.
