Today is the last day of my holidays today before work. Went out in my mates 14ft bass boat. The swell was easy and the fishin great. My mate got a 1.1m spano and we bagged out on the spots. Most were only 70+ cm but great fun on the slugs and trolled lures and pillie rigs. Saw a 3m hammerhead chasing our catch and lost a few more spanos. Got back home around 9am and my neighbour was just leaving to hit the tweed (solo). He stopped for a chat and asked me to come along, so I grab my rod, tackle and a bottle of water and off i go. First troll bang 1.5m wahoo hits the shotgun in plain sight "Totally awesome". He was thrashing around on the surface while i struck (set the hook) and then fought him as he circled the boat fully lit up. Lost and saw a few more before going home. Sorry no pics as my cam phone has failed and i filleted it at the ramp.

Nice going there carnster, What lure did you score the hoo on and how much did he weigh in at ?

200g silver blue hex head trolled at various speeds but most hits were at about 8knots. Not sure about the weight could only measure the length. Wish i had a photo but did not want to deal with such long fish at home so glad to fillet at the ramp.

hey mate where you working tweed reefs? might have seen you out there today, was a good day by lots of boats on the gold coast, nice wahoo sounds like you had a cracker also

Yeah Nelster forgot to mention you loosing your rod due to the broken rod holder. Lucky i hooked it up with my troll lure. Can you put up the pic with you holding the spano?
