Thread: Kinchant Dam, Mackay.

    Kinchant Dam, Mackay.

Had a morning session at the dam for 1 sooty at about 30 cm.
The weed areas have grown considerably in the 4 months since I was last there.
Temperature was at 28 C. and visability into the water is about 5 ft.
Trolled the wall (6.30 AM) and saw a few barra and baitballs on the sounder around the outlet and in the northern corner. After casting around the weed patches, I did one last troll back along the wall, and NO fish arches on the sounder (9.30 AM)

    Cheers, Bobj.

    While trolling, 1 20 + barrabait and 1 12+ predatek viper (silver).
Casting around the weedbed drop offs, 6 ft gold B52, various sp's (4" and 6")
    Casting over the weedbeds, scumfrogs.
Got the sooty on the gold B52.

    Cheers, Bobj.

Hey Bob I went for a run to Teemburra yesturday and had about the same luck as you . The weather was great shower after shower I even had the whole dam to myself but thats the way fishn goes. My main idea was give the boat a run so at least I got that out of the way now it's time to catch some fish.
    Cheers Gav
