Thread: Full Moon on Wednesday??

  1. #1

    Full Moon on Wednesday??

Can anyone tell me if fishing on the night of a full moon offers any benefit than fishing at other times?

I am in the process of organising a monthly fishing night for the guys at work and thought, I might start with this Wednesday and then every full moon after.

Can anyone offer any advice or facts on fishing on the full moons?

    Cheers

    Adrian

Depends on where your going to be fishing and what your chasing.
I have only ever caught sharks on a full moon, not much fish.
I stay away from too much moon these days.

    Big baits !

    My take.

Full moon in winter scares the bream in the shallows.

Full moon brings in big / fast tides.

Lots of other info about, even visiting Nuggets website will help:-

    Woosy bream!

Phil, I turned your post into a haiku poem

    Full moon in winter,
Scares the bream in the shallows,
    Brings fast and big tides.

Ha! I've had too many beers..

    OK....................

When the moon is full of light
and the bream stay out of sight,
    big tides are racing
    empty creels we're facing,
so bring on the black night and let our rods feel the fight.

    ahhhh love that strongbow

When chasing bream in the estuaries during the winter spawning run I rate the full moons in June and July as the best times of the whole year. You could catch just as many on the new moons in the same months, but when the moon is full you can fish without ever having to use a torch!

    Re: Full Moon on Wednesday??

    ive had mixed results
    with lots of faults
    weather out to sea
    or in the river
    theres alway a bright night
for sippen on mumas home brew of tea
bream sure do like the light
but out on the reefs they seem to flee
    so good luck to you
and may your fishn be forever true.

    Re: Full Moon on Wednesday??

The boy stood on the burning deck
    looked to the sky
and said " what the feck "

He grabbed his rod and off he trod
a full moon, a big tide and ambition in his eyes

later that night 'twas all a quite
with swirls of fins to his delight
Alas, his creel was bare, as the nightly fare
was a filthy catfish grasping for clean air

    despondent he returned
to his abode, he's often spurned
no fish to eat, no fish to clean
no matter this, tomorrow is another dream

    Re: Full Moon on Wednesday??

This thread has reached a new low in the quality of threads posted to date.

But then, the full moon always brings out strange traits in people and makes them do very strange things........

Didn't know until now that there are so many SPOONERS on here.
