I would like to take the family up to Bribie for a few days and have been doing some reading about a spot called Whitepatch.
I had a bloke take me out to Peel Island and give me a go at some bream on light gear, and I liked it! And this Whitepatch place apparently is a spot to go to chase bream.
I think I have it sussed as to where it is, that is..... about 500m north of the little bridge over the creek when you turn onto Whitepatch drive?
I will have a tinny and wanted to know if there is anywhere else to chase up a bream around pumistone passage?
Hi Rhet,
For beam i like to fish for bream at the front of Ningi creek there is alot of old oyster leases around there. Try drifting over these a high tide should do ok.
Cheers BOAB BRIBIE
White patch was also good for Flathead/Trevors and once a small Barra, my info is 25 years old but nothing should have changed.
It's the stretch of water north most on that end of the island but with an old-style esplanade that used to terminate at the entrance to the forest...info once again is years old. The estate there I spent time driving moxys in the reclamation, might have changed even more since.
Out in front of Whitepatch there is a broken line of coffee rock drop off. You need to go there at low tide and try to locate these areas, either by wading or by boat. Once you have located and marked (or taken bearings) of your selected area you can come back and fish these target spots easily. A little berley goes a long way here and will drag fish from a very long way down current to your location, so berley little and often as possible. Try not have any breaks in the scent trail you are sending out.
