    Thursday Just Gone

Had a last minute cancellation so decided to go to the shelf with me mate Luke (Fish & Chips) on a rec trip. Brooksy was 2/3 on blues the day before plus 4 big mahi mahi. We found a couple of hoo on the way out, one just after a squall then were 2/3 on big dorado like pictured. Didn't see a stickface though. Worked 200-350m for the day.

Got a hoo and missed a few as well as missing a few yellowfin first up in close on minnows and skirts at 6knots. Put the high speeders out once the squalls chopped it up as it was glamour in the morning and got that random hoo in about 100m. It had a massive fat guts like it had just swallowed a striped tuna but Luke said it was empty. Same as the mahi mahi. The hoo weighed heavier by feel. Maybe 16kg. Dunno if he put them on the scales. It was pissing rain all arvo as you know so there was no stuffing round at the ramp.

    Scott,

interesting info for you soon. Ran the boat back today. 12 hours continuous for 185Nm, 1770-Mooloolaba in one leg. Did it on the tank with 1/8 left at least. Will fuel the next couple of days. Had a dirty bum and ran it at 2600-2800 for 14-16knots all the way. Surfed a few downsea to hit in the low 19s. Might do a survey lift tommorrow and hit it with a Gerni.

Nice upgrade Smithy, Will be keen to slot into your wash heading over the 13mile crossing in November if it is going to be like it was last year this year. LOL. Best wishes with the new rig mate. Kev.
