    Wayne

You have been out in the Sea legends big brother, the trip you had on Dream Catcher, with Matt. The handling is not that different. Of the three listed I would go with the whittley....though none of the others are bad choices.

personally wouldn't buy any of the 3 ,much better options out there, i'd sooner buy a late model plate boat before buying a new one of those.

you asked for opinions so thats mine.

Greg- yes your right on that one, just think the ride on the 7.5 sea legend will differ to the 6.5m big difference in size.

Captain Red nut - around the 50K mark.

Oldie - I have never been on a plate boat, perhaps I should give one a try, don’t know much about them, so have no idea where would you start. Seen the Yellow fin looks like a good plate boat also the bar crusher.

Which other makes are worth a look. And is the ride as good in a plate as in a glass boat?

    Cheers.

Plate is soft riding and tough i do not own one but have been in many.

Whitley are great caravans on water and the other 2 makes are the lower $$ end of other manufacturers. Bar Crusher would be worthy as are most like Fisher,Noble,Vindicator etc etc, really comes down to what your wanting out of a boat? what type of fishing your into where your fishing etc

50k price range gives you quite a few options and new is not necessarily the best if you find something inside 2-3 years old with warranty that is much more supreme craft.

again these are my thoughts and not wanting to throw a cat amongst the pigeons for you. Does it have to be 7.5 meters?

    G'day Wayne,
I know of a nice 5.2m Kevlacat for that money, fully rigged and ready to fish. Fairly new 4 stroke Yammies on it.

I think you would be very disappointed in the ride of the majority of plate boats compared to a Haines or any other deep v glass boat in the size you are looking at.

    Cheers,
    Myles
