ventured to mud yesterday arvo with some mates for a drift fish with plastics along nw side of mud. nothing on the drift. parked on a ledge and managed only 6 or 7 fish in a few hrs on bait. 2 nice grassys goin 40cm+ and a few nice moses p around 25-30. got chesed home by a wall of heavy rain coming over morton. drowned rats by the time we got the boat on the trailer. got a feed tho, so mission accomlished!!
Nice one , at least you got a feed, I ended up with 2 hammerheads and sat out in the bay watching the storms go past trying to pick a good time to head back in.
Good catch for what was beaut weather before the storm. You were lucky you were at mud as i was coming around morton north as it hit us and it took an hour to get back to bribie in wild wind and rain (no huge swell was strange) with a centre console we got drenched and for a while we thought we were going around in circles. Good sweety,s.
yea was standing washing my hands in the water and said to my mate 'give it another 20mins and we'll head off' then, in 4mts of water saw the bottom at 8pm(big flash of lighting) 'looked over towards moreton....umm i think we should go now ey. good call...still got drenched tho. oh well.
water clarity wasnt too bad, better then i expected. i think must have been a bit fresh tho, cause what was most unusual was the fact that only 1 measly little undersize squire was caught. even when i got out and dont bag any legals, i always land a heap of baby pinks. hmm strange...i blame the fresh!!
