After going out on monday in terrinble conditions to only get 2 fish we decided to go out today to chase some reds and redjew. Weather was the 10 to 15 SSE but managable , we left at dawn to try and see what obsticals we would miss from the raging freashwater flowing into the ocean from the fistroy river. After hearing on the radio about floating tanks and upside down catamarans and even live cows that were floating inside the islands we arrived sat our spot on the fern ground a odd 60 plus km out.
First drift seen a beautiful Nanny come on boardto my cousins huge delight with the huge current being a problem in the drift in the 55 m. Sharks were well entruly one after the other with buggar all between and we had to work for them . Between the sharks i got one nice nanny and the daughter scoring a good eating sized cod and then the mate with a good red then more sharks and more sharks then a big spangled hit the esky.
In betweent fishing a huge dolphin cruised in for a look at us and we threw him some pillys and to our suprize hooked into them and wanted more. He then stuck around us for a good 2 hours while we caught more sharks .
Headfing home we trolled thru huge schools of tuna for no hits and hit the harbour around 4 pm
Lots of floatage in the water so night travel is not an option. Now i hear we are getting more rain tonight and tomorrow yeah just what we need
