    Some Pelagic fish snacks

Here is a couple of pics off what I have pulled from the guts of a few of my captures.
I am interested to see what ausfishers have found inside their fish over the years.
Has anyone ever caught a pelagic fish with a old lure still hanging from it, I know a lot of lures are lost to wahoo and maks during the season.

    Jace,
That first one looks to be a baby Billfish?? Maybe send that pick to Dr Julian Pepperell for an I.D.

What did it come out of? and how big is it?

    Cheers,
    Myles

    Myles,

It is a billfish and it came out of a 4-5kg Mahi off the gold coast, I have seen others inside fish but a lot more digested than the one pictured. I thought maybe a Sail due to the two long tassles under its head. Length would be 20-25 cm.

Here are some small herring/whitebait spewed up all over the bottom of my boat by some mack tuna. They must have been absolutely gorging themselves on them because each fish we brought into the boat spewed mountains of them..

Its not from a pelagic but this is a hook and lead insert from a Storm Wildeye that I pulled out of a 50lb Cod in the Bay. Bayfisher had lost a big fish in the same area a few weeks earlier on such a lure. I have no doubt it was the same fish. He made the mistake of eating a 10" Anaconda Ragetail that I was swimming and unfortunatly we could not release him after the fight
