amity point 25th-31st dec 2010
went to straddie for a week of camping with the family.had a great xmas lunch with the usual pig on the spit with prawns and the usual side dishes to go with it.had a bit of a fish after lunch with a couple of summer whiting being caught around the 35cm mark.boxing day with the light winds and rain i went out to the rous and got a good feed of diver whiting in an hr or so,we used the frames for bait that nite for a few shovelies and some big stingrays..bit of fun for the kids.
the rest of the week was spent fishing the high tides around camp with some great summer whiting most around 35cm but we got a few 40cm models also..we got a few good flatties the biggest was 68 cm but most where around the 50cm mark.most nites we fished for shovelies and we got on average 6 a nite for a few hrs biggest was 1.7mtrs but the average was 1.2mtrs.all caught and released.all and all with the light rain and wind it was still an enjoyable relaxing holiday.
happy new year to all
cheers rosco
p.s my son got his first shark went 1.4 mtrs and he was stoked

How was the water was it dirty like a creek as it was like that all the way to Dunich last week. Amity is closer to the bar so i hope it wasnt all that way. Good to see the kids arms stretched on something with this weather. Did u see any pelagics running up the rainbow while u were there as there is a lot of bait fish around. Cheers DD
