So this year for our family xmas holiday we decided to do a fishing roadtrip heading north as far as Boyne Island near Gladestone.

Our first stop was Woodgate Beach, 3 days staying at the local caravan park.

Day 1 - Rain - Headed up to Walkers Point Boint Ramp, fished for a few hours with no luck, not even a bite

Day 2 - Rain - We were supposed to head up to our next stop at Bargara Beach but with all the rain and flooding the ONLY road out of Woodgate was closed by the S.E.S!! So we hunted around and found a house that we could stay another night in, then went down to the boat ramp across the road from the pub. Caught 4 x 20-24cm Bream, nothing to keep. We did however get quite a few people stop and take a photo of us standing out in the hurricane type wind and rain that was blowing in almost horizontally. I can only imagine the comments if anyone was to post these photos up.

Everyone in town was saying that there will be no fish around because of the amount of freshwater running in to the saltwater........ is this true?

Currently we are still stuck in Woodgate and hope that the flood waters subside overnight, so that we can get out. If not I will be heading to the mouth of the Theodolite River to give that a go. Will post an update.
