in the hunt for some underwater leds. anyone using them. i looked at quite a few different brands but i wouldn't mind knowing what other people are using and if they are happy with them before forking out the coin.

First thing is what type of boat do you have?? I have a set of aqualuma mount LED lights in ultra blue on my new boat and they are sensational. This is the second set I have used as I have=d a set of 1 series on my old Haines. They are fab at bringing fish and squid to the back of the boat and definitely add to the bling factor
The reason I chose the Aqualuma is that they are are an Australian company, made in australia and are probably the best quality on the market. They have been around for a while now and they have a good warranty of two years. (chock one up for the aussies)
Yes they are a bit more than others but you get what you pay for!!! I bought mine from ###### marine www.############.com.au as they really sharp with the pencil on these and the rest of the electronics I bought.
all the best

it's a 6.5 m cat. the only problem being it is sealed there for no where to run wires internally. after speaking to aqualuma the best option would be there trim tab lights run off an l bracket. i had sought of already made up my mind but curious to as what other people where running. colour wise i was looking at green but after speaking to a few people everyone seems to be running blue. the lights you are running on the new boat are they the 1 or 3 series?
ocean led amphibians a 6 or a12 pretty hard to beat imop
I actually fitted the new surface mount unitshttp://www.aqualuma.com/surfacemount.html as there was less drilling involved. with the surface mount it was two scres per light and a decent amount of white sika... looks neat it ity wont be coming off in a big hurry
My hull is foam filled so the access was an issue for the 1 and 3 series, I ran the wiring up and into the outboard well and then through the outboard wiring harness. this way it was neat and any wiring damamge would be minimised.
colour is really personal, blue is just the in colour at the moment however the green does look really cool (tropical lagoon look!)

Dumb question are you wanting them to "look cool" attract baitfish or to see fish coming in at night?
There are the ones you actually drop 3m or more below the surface that are a special frequency / colour from the states and are portable to your next boat
I'm interested to hear what results in regards to fish and squid people are having?
We fished at the stern of a anchored superyacht that was lighting up a large area and the activity in the water was amazing. Gave the staff / security staff a pile of squid for allowing us in close.
only for baitfish. i have used one of those lights from the states it worked a treat but i want something permenant. also i will be using them trolling at night for spanish but thats another story
