Hi Guys
I had a bash at fishing Xmas day and was surprised at the amount and variety of fish caught. I went through 1KG of squid and 1KG of cuttle fish bait!
Now i have fished my two spots on the southern bay for 2 years now and only ever taken 3 fish of legal size. but always caught at least a dozen undersized fish ranging from 10cm to 20cm depending on the species and thrown them back BTW.
This Xmas however was a different story every fish caught was averaging 30cm and the variety was huge.
I ended up taking my one Moses perch for dinner and threw the rest back i have never caught so many sweet lip in the bay. It was a very pleasurable day with a real feeling that all this rain has made the water way recover so rapidly.
A piece of me also thinks that the tools that normally take the under sized ones haven't been getting out the due to the rain.
