    Blank

    Gidday all,

I need some help please people with a blank choice for a mate.As some of you know i'm very new to all this. He's after graphite 9 or 10 foot,10 foot preferred blank that can lift bream and dart fishing the rocks at Fraser.Must be whippy,he's not after a full on surf rod,he has plenty of those.

Any help with some ideas would be appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Bream Reaper.

A 9 or 10wt fly blank is worth considering.

    Re: Blank

Snyderglas used to make a pearler of a 9 footer for bream. It was a C108L.
Some shops might still have old stock.
It is glass but a pearler of a blank.
I intend on living for-ever....so far so good

Snyder where a top blank but gone now. I think you should have a look at the Excel composites blank PPG7144 2pc 5-10kg and weighs around 500 grams. This blank would suit your needs perfectly. Catching dart and bream is only half the equation, lifting them up and onto the rocks is where you will need a bit of grunt in the butt and this is where the PPG comes in to its own.

Hi Bream Reaper, i have a got a Snyder Glas "Jack Alvey Special" the blank is a CR145ft6w and a 3w. it is 6 wraps of glass and you you can also get a 3 wrap but the 3 wrap is good in the surf but the wrap has got a b it more grunt to lift onto rocks.... i have both and they are great rods.

    Re: Blank

I should have done my home work before adding my opinion, Samurai make excellent blanks and cost wise value for money. I've only built their NV7 & NV6's not the length of blank you are after, but I'm guessing they would likely make a blank to suit your mates needs... slow taper (YUCK!!!) but if you want whippy, or spaghetti rods as Stu call them, slow taper will do it. Good luck. Cheers R.

I have heard that Wilsons are only making blanks for themselves and not selling blanks at the moment not sure when they might start doing it.
