yes I have had the same problems an have read a lot of ausfishers stating the same problems, dont know why though
sorry
Been a few threads on this lately. Just download the firefox browser, you can still keep your explorer and you should be ok.
Put firefox in an advanced search here and you'll find the process.
Heres one just down the page http://www.ausfish.com.au/vforum/sho...d.php?t=170688
same problem here, only with Ausfish, no other forums
Thanks guys - never had the problem before with the same laptop and the same setup. I look at other forums written in the same language both here and overseas and have no problems at all.
I shouldnt have to download another browser just to view this forum; that would mean we had different browsers for every different web site - what a mess that would be.
It almost makes this site un usable.
Thanks for the replies
same, same, did it last night at approx. 11:30pm, but all good now. Has done it before in the past, on and off...only happens on AF?
Yeah it all started about 3 weeks ago now see threads below.

Its a shame but it would appear that the Ausfish hierachy dont seem to care. You should not have to download a new browser or block a popup or change anything at all to speed up any site on the internet.
If it is only taking 20 seconds to load then you are lucky it takes anywhere from 1-2 minutes for me. I use and view many chat forums on the net fishing ,camping ,4 wheel driving ,a pool forum from the states that ive used since putting in a pool to help with maitaining it and they are all fine as is the rest of the sites I browse. They are all free forums and use the same principle as Ausfish allowing people to advertise for a price to pay for the site. I feel sorry for those that have paid money to the site whilst I think its great that they have decided to help out I would feel cheated if it was me.
Cheers Axl
The comment I made was "it would appear" I did not say they dont.
I couldnt remember reading in any of the posts on this subject that the Ausfish hierachcy had replied saying that they are working on the issue. I was going to go back through the posts but as it would have taken to much time I didnt. I wrote what was on my mind at the time which is what chat forums are all about.
So if there is reference to the fact that the issue is being rectified in these posts and I have upset you I apoligise.
Cheers Axl
I've been reading all these posts for awhile now on how slow it all is, you don't need to wait for the page to load for the drop down menu. Just click the chat boards menu and it will take you to the main page to choose a link to the specific page you're after. If you have a fast connection but are being slowed by the ads loading on AF this is pretty quick.
I've never noticed AF so slow that it's un-viewable and I use 3 separate connections and a combo of IE and FF. The ads are slow to load sometimes but hey, it's a free site, what you got to complain about?
Vegetarian - Ancient tribal slang for the village idiot that can't hunt, fish or ride.
The site is slow no matter where you click, from the main chat page or jumping to offshore reports or anywhere.
The fact is - the site never use to be like this ads or not and as far as users go and advertisers go....the site is broken. I have high speed internet connection and I look at forums and web cams and stuff all over the world and i do not have the issue anywhere else.
Once a site has a lag time to load pages at around 20 seconds - then people just start to leave.
I really do hope the owners are chatting to their programmers and hosting service to fix the problem. Storage, Memory and Processing Power are cheap as chip now from hosting sites - so it shouldnt be an issue and neither should ads loading over the top.
Cheers
I wonder if it is a "local" thing. Over the last few weeks while some from the Brisbane area have had a problem I have not notice any slow down at all regardless of what time of day I'm on.
