Ive been doing a lot of fishing off the seaway wall lately and has got me thinking which is the better way to go. The old wilson 14' beach whip aerial or 12'6 with a lot less action. Much thinner at the butt, but a thicker wall, to me which feels stronger!
is it maybe better to have more action for when the fish has that last dart onto the rocks or to stop him and have the line do all the work??

Softer rod will protect the line/knots to a greater degree.
