We have been enjoying some time off up the coast and I have managed a few early morning beach sessions over the last week. There have been the usual undersized dart and the occasional whiting, and even a keeper bream, but nothing to rave about.

Yesterday the swell dropped to nothing so decided that this morning on the top of the tide might be OK. Headed down around 6:30am with some left over worms. Tide was high with the sand falling sharply into deep water right along the beach. First 10 casts produced 9 fish! Again they were mainly dart but also a whiting and one keeper flatty. Soon after the flatty I finished the worms. Tried for a little while to get some more worms but only found one or two of the little buggers and my catch rate isn't good enough (1 out of 10) so gave up.

Will probably give the worming a decent shake later today and try again tomorrow morning - hopefully the kids might even be tempted to have a go if the fish are as cooperative as they were today.

Have fun,

Dave
