Bay Snapper

Went out solo wed night just gone and ended up with this just under 6 kilo fish as reward for the sloppy conditions I had to put up with(10-15 N/NW). I`d been on night shift all week but no work wed night so rather than let the body clock go back to normal I figured I`d go out fishing . also got a nice buck in the 1 crab pot I put out @ cabbage tree creek. The Schnapp fell to half a gar on a snelled rig. good to see the big boys are still here for xmas! Cheers Andrew

Good fish Andrew, send the picture to labour and the greens and show them there are still plenty of snapper around, no need for the BULL$HIT SNAPPER BAN next year

Good snapp there and well done for shooting out with this weather lately. The new snapper rules will make it hard to fish but fish like that does make it worth while as i only chase snapper and i have had hundreds of people call me over the 6 week ban in feb. What length was he looks about 80 cm to me? 2 good good feeds there and tasty as at that size. Been a while i hooked a good one so well done.

Tim D . I`m with you on the snapper ban being rubbish but when did pearlies and trag pop up from. trag have been thick as offshore this year.

Scalem . I find when it`s sloppy it`s best for snaps , maybe they dont spook as easy if there`s a lot of slop.

Dobson , he went 83cm and thats with the tail allowed to fall naturally on to the brag mat. no racing tails here!

Bondy , Muddy was about 3/4 full and was delicious .

I agree mate the trag ban is so stupid, everytime timddo and i have headed off the Goldie we have bagged out on them within an hour.

they threw the trag and pearlies in there because you might inadvertently catch one of those very rare fish riding on the brink of extinction that your great grandfather once actually saw in person called a "snapper" lol
