    gc jack

Well, i went out to test the waters last night after all the fresh with Wayno in search of jacks at spot X. After almost two hours of furious castnetting we had secured ten likely candidates in the form of scared mullet. We got to the spot only to find that there were tons of them already milling around the intended fishing spot.. (Sorry about that one mate)

Anyway not to worry the first bait hit the water about an hour or two into the run in tide and the waiting game begins.. Wayno has the first inquiry but we suspect it have well have been a bream and the baited hook comes back minus the bait (Bream score 1, Wayno 0) The surface activity seemed to warrent the jacks indeed being home and the next bait (mullet) was put out with a fresh enthusiasm. A little while later Wayno has the first genuine jack bite but the fish makes a small run and doesnt come back. In gets wound one very petrified and newly descaled mullet. just as i am starting to think my bait has bad body odour the baitrunner springs to life and i am solidly hooked up.. the braid holds together and i narrowly avoid getting bricked into the pylons and all is good as a very decent sized Red devil is slid onto the sand bank... woo hoo one for the good guys, a couple of quick picks and he is released after scaring the crap out of me snapping his jaws whilst i am trying to get a pic (anyone who has caught one will know what i mean)

One more run concluded a very nice way to spend a monday night... fishing of course

need help uploading the picture........ or hopefully wayno will put it up here
dont knock on deaths door... ring the doorbell and run... death hates that!!
