Hello Fellas,
I just found out about a fishing comp in January around Brisbane. It is being held by Cabbage Tree Bait n Tackle and you can fish from Peel Is to Nerang River (i think)need to have entry forms in by 20 December. It is the first year it is being held and is capped at 200 fishing, currently numbers are around 100. Fishing comp is held weekend of January 20 2011.
Entry Fee: $60
Biggest Jew: $1,000
Biggest Jack: $1,000
Bream: $250
Flathead $250
Whiting $250
Entry fee gets you a bag of goodies and a brag mat, you are required to take photos as a way of entering fish. Fish will be calculated on length.
Anyway just though I would let you know as I will be entering with a few mates and camping on an island out there somewhere. I think its a great social idea and another reason to get the boats out!
Get your entry froms from Cabbage Tree Bait n Tackle either by picking up or ring them and they can fax or send.
Cheers
Marty

Think you might be knee deep on MRE Or CSSB that weekend Burley
i doubt that luke fishing comes before work in my books especially if the given fishing day is a weekend work doesnt even get a look in'' hit the mrs up mate going to the pin instead of rainbow cheaper!!!
just dont get any hooks in your foot!
Hows it going Tim, mate i know of a couple of spots down the pin which are great to camp at, and they are not subjected to the strong tidal flow and the crabbing is pretty good near by. May need to take the whipper snipper though with all this rain.
The second spot is a bit shallow, so the bigger boats may have a problem.
I'll catch up with you and Marty soon and show you where they are. They can quite easliy over looked when cruising past.
Wardy
thanks wardy! due for a catch up mate im banking on martys knowledge on the area given i have only fishd the pin once'' with marty and sumhow it rained for half the day. anyhow should tag along mate will be more then enough boats. more the merrier''
Come on Wardy, would be great to catch up over a few bottles and a fish. I have just popped home after a drenching at Nth Straddie, mozzies are nuts at the moment but looking forward to it.
Cheers
