having had our quota of barra ready for stocking lenthalls with kurt up at gladstone fisheries i headed up thinking of a couple of days fishin as well, how wrong i was got to awoonga saturday with drenching rain 70mm in 1 hour then a bit of calm fished for 2 hrs before it hit again to continue for 4 to 5 hours with just a catty for my effort, got a phone call from awoonga trev to say he was goin out ,jumped in and to have a person with such great knowledge of the waterway helps so much ,over to spot one and a cuople of cast later trev gets wacked ,2 more casts and i hooked a missile running everywhere around trees into weeds ,trev drives the skeeter where it shouldnt go after a battle with snagged rods in trees and a angry fish got it on deck about a metre of great fish thanks trev ,got the fingerlings and headed back into heavy rain our dam went over ealier in the day so it will be interesting on how our fish go and wether we keep them the dam rose that quick that scottos boat floted of his anchor pole during the time we had a barby. heading back out the road it was interesting like driving thru a lake at times maybe no fishin out there for a while .cheers AL
How many fish did you release ? Do you spread them round - ie some right back up the dam? I will be up there in the NY. It will be interesting to see. I think it was about 35% last time I was there.
Cheers
we put 3000 fish in and made sure they were in the small pockets in the dam where no current was running the dam is in full flow at the moment as are most of them
