Thread: Barcrushers-Soft Hulls?

    Re: Barcrushers-Soft Hulls?

Didn't know that the boat is still for sale. I spoke to the current owner 'bout a week or so ago and he told me, then, that the boat has been sold. Also told me, as I was curious, that the damage had been done when the boat came adrift from a mooring. Said he'd purchased it, done it up a bit, and put it back on the market. Not too sure 'bout his yarn.

They say its been repaired. Makes you wonder what else needed repairing..Looks like a lot of on road damage with the indentations around the front rollers. May have been tied too tight or did long journeys with a heavy load.

Obviously other problems as well. Don't think the manufacturer would be all that happy with people seeing one of their boats in that condition.

Whatever it is it doesn't say much for the trailer setup.

Heavy load is a possible contributor, but that damage from the rollers is typical of what you get when the boat is NOT TIED DOWN TIGHT ENOUGH, rather than tied too tight. Bouncing up and down on rollers is not a good thing. Stap'em down hard and avoid that sort of thing. Set trailer up properly and keep it adjusted that way helps too.

I think the explaination about the boat coming adrift from a mooring may be somewhat understated - looks like its been washed up on the rocks and allowed to bash around there in a rough sea for a day or two to do that sort of damage....

Overall, it looks very much like a good boat that has not been cared for much by its owners. Real pity to see that.

    G'day,

I reckon the boat has been T-Boned by rocks or worse. Trailer damage should be well under the boat to the keel line. The deep chines on these things would protect the sides - unless it was laying on its side on the trailer -- OOPS!

But put your plate boat on a trailer with skids made to drive it on and it won't get dented and it won't fall over.

    Regards,

    White Pointer
