I have the 14000, which is the same but a lower capacity spool. I loaded mine with 300m of 50lb Power Pro and still needed a little backing, so I would guess you could load 300m of any brand of 80lb you like, and you will be pretty close. Particularly based on Bribie's comments.
My Saragosa 18000 was spooled with around 200m of backing and only 150m of 50lbs braid. It is probably just under what it needs to be, however the braid is being replaced after a Swains trip anyway. I am going to strip back to 100m of backing and run 300m of 50lbs powerpro. Great real, smooth drag, especially when the mackeral hit and run.
opss sorry Den i meant to ask Bribie how much backing he put on

Bugger all backing mate just a nice even cover of the spool, then all the braid I could get on.
Just in case....

If you are jigging you want no backing as big fish will take you all the way- I have a stella 18000 which is very similiar to the saragosa and it takes about 340 of 100lb power pro. Hard to go past the Varvisa for leader
