    My new HD hero Pro

    Hello Guys,
I have purchased a HD Hero Pro and mounted it on my boat. I though it would be useful when we go off shore to help capture that special moment. I had my mate Steve recommend it to me who uses it on his surfboard as he is right into his fishng. I have noticed it advertised on here and have to say it has great picture quality and is easy to use. I bought mine from America and paid $380 Au. I will try to put the footage up of us coming in the seaway as an example but I think I have to upload to youtube first.

Thinking of buying one myself so look foward to the results. I got a price today off australian dealer for less than that. $346 for the naked. Which did you buy?

This is raw footage, boring but shows the cameras potential. It has a 180' lens standard and is waterproof. Anyway in future it will be more exciting this is just a trial.
    Uploading now.....

I got the surfing one which comes with full waterproof case and a few mounts. Like I said raw footage but shows the HD well. Taking a while to upload.

I have the 3mp version and its a total piece of junk, poor quality video, no sound and glitchy as hell.
    I hope yours is better.

I bought a HD hero for the motorbike. Its pretty good. Occasional glitch in the sound, but when you use the waterproof case the sound is all muffled anyway.

I came a cross the Oregon ATC9K helmet cam today, "waterproof" to 20 metres $ 329.00 with the usual mounting accessories.

Has anyone looked at this camera?

I looked at all of them. Oregon, Go Pro, VholdR and decided on the gopro cause it had the best reviews at the time, and cause I got it cheap in a group purchase1

Guys i just bought a HD Hero motorsport model, the only reason i went that way is that it comes with suction cap mount and can be fitted to the dash or windscreen of the boat or anywhere on the fourbie.
I paid $351 delivered off ebay from an aussie seller.

Two thing to watch out for is that the ones that come in from the states, is the battery recharger is different (you have to get one for aussie power supply) and some of the hero's on ebay are the older model
    and arn't HD.

    cheers

I've got a hd motorsport hero on the way from the states. Paid $280 AU for it (bargain) of ebay but spent a bit extra for some accessories. Seen some good examples of the picture quality and looks outstanding. Can't wait for it to show up Then can't wait to use it on some fishing action.

    cheers from boony

Re: My new HD hero Pro

I ended up buying an ATC9K ($299) because I wanted it for The Ribbons ladies game fishing tournament in Cairns tomorrow. The local store gives a 12 month warranty (???), and I extended the warranty for a further 2 years for $ 30.00, so fingers crossed.

If all goes well, and I press the right buttons, I'll post some footage in the next few days

    boony,
If it doesnt come with one you will still have to get a SD memory card.
it may come with a 2gb card but that will only let you record about 55min..
where as the 32gb gives you 9hr..

We used a HD gopro for the entire billfish season here last year. Underwater shots, headmounted footage and pole mounted footage..made for a great 20 minute wrap up of the 80 or so fish season for us with some editing and music put to it. This year all 4 of us have got one so we shouldnt miss a jump or tag shot.

Here is some of the stuff we got with it.
