    Emu Park Boat Ramp Needed

Hi Men, for sometime now myself and another local fisho have been pushing for a Deepwater all tide ramp in Emu Park. Despite fronting, email ,and all other contacts to our minister for transport ,she now tells us( after 2200+petition) that any/all submissions on this subject HAVE to be made through our local Regional Council to the State Gov ??. So what we are wanting is if there are any CQ fishos on this site that support or want this Ramp to CONTACT our local Councillors and let them know how important/needed this subject is !! Thanks & Cheers PS We wont go away !

There is a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot

I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be without sponges

Up here we Use Hussar as baits for real RED FISHS (SHSIIFDER)

don't hold your breath..no money left in the budget for any new ramps.
Most of the ramps are now under the control of the local Govt so maybe better annoying the hell out of them.

Gees I hope comm0on sense prevails.
A Central Queensland tourist mecca without an all weather, deep water boat ramp.
    Makes sense??
Even if someone donated the concrete it would still be a sh!tfight.

A local out here wanted to clean and dress up all the foreshore around the dam whilst it was empty to improve the place and to, maybe, save an accident or too. But he was knocked back by council. Why?? Who knows.
I intend on living for-ever....so far so good

Yeah, I realize'they' say that there is no money?? ( but this is not the SE corner )but, back in October of '08 there was a statement that quoted "10million to be spent on CQ boating infrastructure" which seemed to = two 2 bay ramps and 2 pontoons?? and with Rosslyn Bay our ONLY deepwater ramp full most good weekends and with only 170 parks to cater for all of this area. We DO need another one here soon !

bombie, you are definately on the right track with an all tide ramp for emu park cause I also grew up fishing this area. After chatting to a few people about the local council at emu park, your words sounds like they are falling on deaf ears as the local council guru is apparently lazy as f**k. It's sad to think how much more money would be put into emu park (fishing sales, bait, fuel just to name a few) for the sake of an all tide ramp.

    cheers from boony
Fishing can be defined as "A jerk on one end of the rod, waiting for a jerk on the other".
"Fishing was around along time before you darling"

agree 100% they do need a boat ramp there as well that would boost retail in the area they did do a petition last year and they got over 3000 signatures but the only way we will get a deep water ramp there is if we all get a shovel and start digging. Speaking to that mob of lazy fuc-ers is a waste of time and the goverment would rather spend billions of dollars on shit we dont need

Qld Transport..no money left in the boat ramp section. The "they" is a very good source.

What I don't understand is why they spent millions on a new ramp in Rocky for the Fitzroy River when there was already a ramp below the barrage.

Surely it would have made more sense to spend this money someplace where there was no ramp!

Given this is now the Rockhampton Regional Council, it does cover Emu Park, so no problem with it being a different council.

I shake my head at what was done in Rocky. Millions of dollars for a new ramp, with floating pontoons that is going to be f*cked the first time we get a decent flood!

It never ceases to amaze me what BS politicians can come up with....I guess they are only Politicians because they are too stupid to get a job elsewhere!

So if they put a fence up to keep the crocs off, how do you get onto your boat???

    Bl**dy amazing!

Agree with the need for another ramp at the coast but have to play the devil's advocate. Is the southern end of Fisherman's Beach the best place ? (can;t think where else) It is not deep water there. Remember long dingy trips out to the "Fiesta" for trips to the islands. There is not much room for parking there now & nowhere to expand to without resuming Bell Park. Only possibility would be to rebuild & extend the old jetty. Imagine the scream from the environmentalists & what it will take to get approval in this day & age. Shame they never finished it then. Would be great for the Park But I don't think I'll see it my life time
