ron mcdougall launched the oceanus on fishermans beach after wheeling it down the main st......I was there.
I think we need another good ramp, but I wonder how feasible it is at fishermans.Would be worth doing a decent concept plan first.
I used coorooman for years to fish out past Hummocky. How about some decent channel markers, then it wouldn't be too bad, except for an hour or so on spring tides
Well my two cents is I'am one of the Rocky PRICKS (thank-you for that) and last time I looked it was every Australians Coast line, Including us Rocky PRICKS!!!!.
I agree that I would like to see a second ramp some were for use of ALL Australians to our lovely coast. So saying good luck with getting one and well done on your hard work. KEEP IT UP.
Cheers
I haven't got a problem with Rocky pr!cks, my parent are even some! My problem lies solely in them deciding on the future of Emu Park.
The southern end of Fishermans beach is the main street of Emu Park. There is no avoiding the main street to get to the beach and there is no doubt where the overflow of cars and trailers would end up.
Bombie, you use the term local very loosely, from what I can understand you are from Yeppoon and couldn't give a rats about Emu Park and neither could the people that signed your petition; they just want to launch there boat there.
I care about the future of the town. JT, you hit the nail on the head, I was going to mention the haven. I used to put my little tinnie in down there to go to rita mata and the beach is definitely deep enough. It might p!ss that bloke with the big house on the point off though!
On a brighter not I got a 23kg spanno this morning and 3 around the 8kg mark. Could have caught more if I could have kept the big fella cold! I had to head back because my esky in the little boats only a meter long and we couldn't shut the lid.
Jeez the water is dirty, even 40 ks out.
The future of Emu Park ?
Well i'm afraid Emu Park has been growing for years and will expand no matter what . eg IGA Supermarket going in main street Emu Park would like to have a High School too . Developement will go ahead regaurdless and i for one have been there much longer then a fair few and have seen it go from alot and am involved in the delvelpment of land and a fair few sub divisons around Emu Park and more. So Emu Park is going to grow.
Lived there grew up there was a part of it. This ramp issue has been going on for 20years plus ........... be good to have one but still won't think it will happen like i said the old man was the treasurer for it at one stage. Boats use to leave from Fishermans to go to keppel when it started

There is a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot
I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be without sponges
Up here we Use Hussar as baits for real RED FISHS (SHSIIFDER)
Nah.. Wrong again ,Choc-e !! not from Yeppoon either, I was involved in the new Coorooman Ramp(and are STILL pushing the road on that issue) and I am heavily connected with a fishing club at the LOCAL in "The Park" , so do not try and tell me I dont give a rat's ARSE about the place !! And as I have stated before , We only want to improve the place not F--k it...!! Anyway public meeting tomorrow and one with the councillors on Monday, Anyone with any interest please turn up .
Highly successful meeting today, Coast guard really likes the idea and stated that they will support it the several LOCALS that attended think its a brillant idea now they have seen the plans .So now onto the beaucrats
I know exactly who you are now bombie. Can I remind you that you are banging the same drum on the polyboatowners forum claiming to be from Yeppoon. I'm not worried about where your from, is not my point.
JT is right, the town is going to grow and be developed, like it or not. Unfortunately the days of it being a sleepy little seaside town will come to an end.
One day the main street of Emu Park will look like Yeppoon or Rocky's. Could you imagine east street mall with a boat ramp directly at the ends of it? Or a boat ramp where the surf club is at the end of the main street in Yeppoon?, it would be a nightmare for fishermen to have to drive their boats through a busy main street when families are out shopping (its painful to drive through Yeppoon main street when its busy without the extra pressure form boaties). Its also a nightmare for the general public to have up to a 100 boats from the surrounding area driving through the main street on a Saturday morning when the weather is good.
JT is also right in that it won't go ahead. Things like this need public development application or the like. There is no way that the RCC strategic planning committee is going to approve that ramp (Brett Svendsen is the chair).
I support the idea of another deepwater ramp on the coast. I just believe that your looking at the wrong place. No amount of "local signatures" on a petition, support from the coast guard or banter on an internet forum is going to help the argument.
No hard feelings bombie, but your wasting your enthusiasm. I won't be posting on this thread again and probably should have just bitten my tongue.
So if you think know who I am then you might know that I dont give up real easy!!! & I really do "give a rats arse about the place"!! (Hence banging on many drums not just two ).You are Still entitled to your opion.your comment on Councillers Svendsen's involvement ?? (well I wont go into that ),Correct yes ,we will need to place and Development Application same as lots of developers have in 'the park' and indeed they where approved. Is it not "busy" in Hill str now coming home on A Saturday or Sunday Arvo? Has anyone not ever driven down James str with boat attached on a weekend ? & what about the Boyne Hook-up, plenty of people in those busy streets & the LOCALS love it!(it brings in LOTS of $$$ to them) .Infact some of the LOCAL shoppies did sign the petition !!and really do you think that any support from the Coastguard will not help this issue??.THEY are as fed-up with the overcrowding of RBH as us boaties! & Until we get a negitive responce from the RRC & State Gov (which I doubt as most of the infrastructure is already there ,some trailer parks, lighting, etc which all add up in councils $$,) my /our enthusiasm will be postiive .Choc-e dont bite your tongue on that bike See anyone interested on Monday Morn 8.00 At The RAMP

Hi Men, had meeting with Mayor Carter, QT’s Mike Hooihan and some council staff ,Coastguard officials + interested public attending. today. Well impressed with concept, but raised concerns with Parking & traffic through Emu Park, as we excepted & they do realize that RBH is over crowded with nowhere to go but did state there is a real need for another Ramp on our coastline .Coastguard is very supportive and claimed that with a number of unsavory incidents occurring of late at RBH at another ramp would help . Mayor stated that they will raise it a council chambers .Cheers ……
