Offshore Goldy today
Went out at 11am today for a run of the Goldy as I couldnt let it go as the weather was ok for a change. Conditions were good with a 5knot breese coming from the NE and a 1-1.4m swell.
I dont have many marks off the Goldie as they went with my old GPS and I didnt think I needed them as I dont often fish down there because of the crowds.
So off I go, headed out the seaway and went to a patch looks like a banana ESE of the seaway which lookin at a chart must be the 36 Fathom reef. I fished the eastern side and found many schools hanging off which turned out to be squire around the 30-35cm mark so none kept. I then ventured north of there and found many bait schools with not much action around them. BUT i did find lots of fish feedeing to the side of the schools. Once again lots of reef flathead and squire. I did try plastics, jigging on these schools but not much big chasing these ones.
I did find these schools around the place but once again not much chewing. I think it would have been better with an early start.

Re: Offshore Goldy today
Thanks Brett, there were lots more bigger shows just didnt have time for the camera, and at one point I thought I had found a wreck as the bait schools had formed a wreck type shape and was thick red no other colour through it. Bloody strange but never the less a great day.

Probably worth a fast troll through the bait schools this time of year - dollies and mackeral. Hope you marked the wreck on the gps definitely worth coming back to..

yes I have, not sure if its wreck or thick bait, it was a very odd shape hard on bottom.
