Just getting a8 installed on the boat what is the best card and most practical for the type of fishing i do.Lots of inshore and a bit out wide.
Also what price am I looking at.
I fish the East coast and live in Byron bay.

I have the HDS 8 and have used both the Navionics Gold card and the Lowrance NauticPath charts in it.
I have a preference for the Gold card as it looks a little 'prettier' but the info is much the same on both. The gold card is much more expensive at a little under $400 compared to $200 for Lowrance NauticPath card.
I ended up with one of each as I purchased the gold card for a Humm Matrix 97 system and then purchased a HDS 8 and the Lowrance card off the net so they are sitting side by side on the dash. I can use the Gold in either but the HDS only reads the NauticaPath/Lowrance card.
If you search some of my posts on the map pics of screen shots I have posted are all the Lowrance map card.
I am thinking of selling the NauticPath as I have decided to keep the HDS loaded with the gold card.
