    Garmin GPSMAP 750.

    Hi all,
I have currently been looking at a Garmin GPSMAP 750 unit and thinking about buying one. Does anyone out there have one and if so how have you found it e.g. reliable, accurate, easy to use, value for money etc. Are the maps that come pre-installed of a good quality or do you really need to buy a mapping card for better info.
    Cheers.

Mate - I have the Garmin before that one 178C. By far the best GPS i have used. I know they changed the set up a bit between those 2 generations, but the one I have is awesome. So dead easy to use - intuitive - and yet so many features.

    Cheers

PS. Everyone has their favourites but mine is Garmin for GPS (boat and elsewhere) and Furuno for sounders.

chrispad, same story as a few of the others. A mate of mine just got one for his 6.4meter baysport. Was trying to convince him to go furuno but he got the 750s. Touchscreen is awesome and the preloaded maps are of great quality. The sounder part reads perfect bottom flat bikkie (up to about 70km/h). My opinion after 2 trips now is that it is an absolutely excellent buy and now wishing I had one in my boat. I also bought the g2 bluechart card off ebay from overseas for about $100 (normally $350.00 in australia) which gives you a sh*tload more features. The 750s is simple to use and great price. He picked it up for about $1800. I've got no doubt that this is one of the best value for money sounders on the market at this point in time.

    cheers from boony
