Anybody know a good spot heading out of Sandgate to catch these little critters, keep in mind I'm a complete noob so will require them to jump out of the water into my boat

Complete Noob bream hint....... Dohles Rocks boat ramp... basically there is the rocks about 40 meters directly in front and slightly to the west of the ramp.. you want to be fishing a couple of meters to the centre from the sign and anchor so that you are fishing an area about 5 meters east of the sign.. depending on tide in or out will determine where you drop the pick..
Bait that works the best is diced pilchard.. I use a medium 9 ft rod with the reel of your choice.. a 1/0 hook with a smallish sinker but big enough to get the bait down against the run of the tide.
Remember only take what you need.. I have had sessions where the catch has literally been in the hundreds so don't be greedy.
Best of luck.
fish the marina in cabbage tree creek. Also the VMR pontoon on higher tide (but that can be hit and miss).
At Clontarf you can try the Wells on a run out tide, simply can not miss ever. Unweighted cubes of fish on a 1/0 suicide hook tied on 6lb mono. Cast it upcurrent and fish it back to you, when the line picks the weight of the current, recast.
Jack.
Thanks !
Is this the spot? http://www.nearmap.com/?ll=-27.27898...k&nmd=20100720
mate at shorncliffe within cabbage tree creek. if you can get in amongst the moored boats just in front of the yacht club around the rocks is one of the better spots in the area. I would use burley too if your bait fishing.

Yep.. in short when you are there you will see that the rock outcrop has a hazzard sign on it and you want your bait to fish the deeper water right next to the rocks...
Move a few meters either side and the bite will drop right off though... the current can rip through too so you will need the weight to be about right on the sinker.. a bit of trial and error there though.
I prefer the run out tide as you can see a bit of a hole to drop the bait into but have had good success on the run in too.. haven't fished it for a while as I moved to the Sunshine Coast but I am sure it would still fire well.
